A newborn sleep class is coming to Origins! As an Origin’s mom myself, I love & appreciate the full spectrum of services our amazing midwives provide. It doesn’t stop with prenatal care and delivery; they are birthing mothers and equipping us with tools and resources to truly enjoy our motherhood while bonding with our babies.
A little about me: I’m a certified pediatric sleep consultant and work one on one with families to help their little ones form healthy sleep habits. I have been married for over 10 years and I have 3 children who have all had their own unique sleep rhythm so I appreciate that in your little ones as well! I’m passionate about improving sleep for families, but my biggest motto is “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it!” If your current sleep set up is working for both you and your baby, then keep doing you, mama!
This newborn sleep class is not sleep training, is not about getting your newborn to sleep through the night and is a true “no cry” + gentle approach to sleep. It will help you learn to calm a fussy baby (this is so important for those dads too!), combat common newborn sleep troubles, develop a flexible routine (nothing rigid here), and build positive sleep associations. Being able to read your newborn will give you so much confidence as a parent, not to mention that better sleep for mom decreases the risk of postpartum mood disorders so this is just as much for mom as it is for baby!
The class is evidence based, breastfeeding friendly, and full of easy to implement strategies that you can tweak specifically for your family and lifestyle. It is all about setting your little one up to have healthy sleep habits.
