We have been so blessed at Origins to continue to grow over the years and serve our D/FW communities! With new growth comes new change! We have a lot of exciting things on the horizon, and here is the first: We are so excited to have the incredible Midwife Brianna coming to us all the way from Seattle, WA to join us in providing exceptional midwifery care to our Origins’ families!

Meet Midwife Brianna:
Origins Midwife Brianna

Hello to my new Origins Community, I’m Brianna –
I have an incredible little (big) family of 7, with 5 little humans, so we are busy and happy bunch. A little bit about me: I am a 4th generation midwife, with established midwifery records dating back to the early 1900’s. How cool is that!? In 1994, I witnessed my brother being born at home. It was magical, and completely amazing to witness at just seven years old. At that point, I thought being a Veterinarian would be the perfect and fun job for me. I quickly came to realize I actually just had a crazy deep love for dogs, and midwifery was my true calling. Since that realization, I have never considered anything else.  Growing up watching my mother empower and help these beautiful families grow just made sense, I knew it’s what was in my heart. To me, her leaving dinners or holidays always meant she was going somewhere special, it was never a disappointment for me. I began birth assisting with my mom in early 2006, still just a senior in high school. This lit something fierce within me that solidified that this is what I would be doing forever. Not long after graduating high school, I did some traveling and exploring and had my own babies in 2008 and 2011.  I finished my nursing prerequisites and shortly after that, started midwifery school. I began in Fall 2011 and was officially a licensed midwife in the Fall of 2014.
Being a midwife is the most rewarding “job.” It completes me, even on the hardest of days. People are always a little shocked to that hear (although I love them) babies are not what motivates me as a midwife. It’s the woman, their beautiful bellies, it’s witnessing and honoring their undeniable strength, doing the hardest and best thing they will ever do. Watching the whole family grow in these sacred, albeit, fleeting moments. From hearing the first heart beat, to holding their baby for the first time, it is something profoundly impacting that is just too difficult to put into words.
I feel so fortunate to have worked so many years, side-by-side with my mother – I continually learn from her and am happy to have her heart and passion for growing families. Our adventures in Texas have just begun, but I am so happy to have found such a strong group of women that have welcomed me with open arms into their world. I am so excited to learn from them and all the new and wonderful people here in Texas. I cannot wait to serve this community.
With love and many blessings,

-Midwife Brianna
