A Note to Baby Joseph

  Dear sweet Joseph, Your birth story began 9 days after your due date.  Even though you were late, I was not feeling anxious or rushed about your arrival. A couple times I thought “today is the day” only to be mistaken. I started my leave on your due date, July 17th, and was sooo much happier.   The Origins family is expecting again… We know this is fast and unexpected but our newest addition, not so little, is due to make its grand debut in October 2015! Construction is under way for us to open our luxurious 5,000 sq ft Birth Center and Wellness Collective right across the street from our current location. Our gorgeous new Midwife and Birth Center in Keller, TX will feature a state of the art outdoor natural birthing pavilion complete with a water birth tub and beautiful backyard with an acre of land and swimming pool.  Our grand new birthing rooms have large round tubs each with individual private bathrooms with walk-in showers. Our prenatal rooms on the north wing of the center, along with a spacious family room for your guests to anxiously await your newest arrival, allows for privacy from the birthing suites. The Birth of Ivy Kate

Ivy’s story really started two days before her birth, on a Tuesday, when I was 39 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I was having some strong contractions that were about 2-5 minutes apart…all day. I finally contacted one of my midwives, Kaitlyn, around 3 in the afternoon, and she told me to go ahead and come in to see if things would progress. I have a history of my labors piddling around until about the last hour or so, and then things go from easy to serious quickly. I let everyone on my birth team know I was going in and I’d update them on whether she was going to keep me, or send me home. We had a great time that night.
